Hi, I’m Polly - the face behind What a Lovely Bunch.

I am a florist based in the South East specialising in modern and playful florals. My floral designs are abundant and romantic with an attraction for ‘cloud’ shaped floral designs from large scale structures to intimate table scapes.

I have a deep appreciation and understanding of nature and the changing seasons which I strive to integrate into each of my designs. I enjoy creating my designs using a variety fresh florals and foliage both grown and sourced locally but also from further afield when needed.

When I am not creating florals for weddings and events, I really enjoy teaching at Workshops and spreading the joy of flowers.

For me, one of the most rewarding parts of my job as a florist is getting to witness the beautiful emotions that can be evoked by flowers and the symbolism they hold.

In my spare time I enjoy exploring new places with my Husband and two dogs, gardening, creating art, listening to music or simply spending time floating down peaceful waterways on my paddle board.

I adore connecting with others which enables me to create truly bespoke and unique florals for each special occasions. If you’re planning an event, I would lovely to hear from you.

With love,

Polly

  • For as long as I can remember I have been enthralled with nature and the outdoors. My mother is a flower grower and florist and from an early age, me and my sister were given a small plot of the garden to dig and grow our own flower's. I would be the child who’d burst through the school gates with garden posy’s wrapped in tinfoil for my teachers. At lunch time I’d triumphantly head off to nature club and this is where I started building my understanding and appreciation for flora.

  • I pursued a busy Nursing career in London, yet nature and flowers always seemed to be my sweet escape. Whether this was picking interesting stems on walks or buying a selection of supermarket flowers, refashioning them into wholesome bouquets for friends.

Flowers truly are my ‘happy place’. I am in constant awe of their power to evoke strong emotions and memory through their senses. Whether it is the vibrant yellow of the daffodils to signify spring and new beginnings, or the nostalgic scent of a sweet pea and garden roses which transport you back to carefree days.

  • I enjoy daily walks in the countryside, woodlands and coast which heavily influence my colour palettes and draw inspiration for designs. In the summer, I enjoy the rambling hedgerow roses and find they look so beautiful in bowl arrangements, trailing off. Last winter I created a wreath inspired by the north Norfolk marshland, known for its moody tones created by the plumes of sea lavender. It feels important to me for my arrangements to have a deeper meaning, to be part of a story. I take time to navigate how the arrangement can evoke and convey emotions or memories of place or person.
